Name: Chomper
Type: Hostile Wildlife (Moderate Threat)
Description:
With rows of jagged teeth and a mouth that makes up half its body mass, the Chomper is nature’s answer to the question, “What if hunger evolved legs?” Amphibious in origin, these toothy beasts thrive in damp, overgrown biomes, often lurking beneath mossy puddles or nesting near aether-bloomed swamps.
Though seemingly clumsy, Chompers are deceptively fast in short bursts and driven by an insatiable instinct to chew—on tech, boots, or anything that squeaks. Their bizarre biology suggests they were once a failed domestication attempt by pre-Fall bioengineers.
Behavior:
Charges erratically with a wide-mouthed bite attack.
Can swallow small objects whole (and sometimes spit them back).
Emits a gurgling warble when agitated.
Drops Chomper Glands, used in crafting scent-based traps or mobility tonics.
Codex Entry:
“Legs like a frog. Teeth like a grinder. Personality of a spoiled toddler. You’ll hear ‘em before you see ‘em—and you’ll definitely smell ‘em after.”
